Re: The Curse of the Delay

Actually all you've done is show that you're better than the AI (unless you're suggesting that you and the AI are of equal skill, which seems improbable). So are most experienced players. That at...

Re: #338--Fintel Ridge special woods rule

Oops, my bad: Scenario #338--Fintel Ridge still has the special woods rule, as do Weasel's other Red Army scenarios numbered 336-40. My confusion was the result of another Fintel Ridge (same map,...

Re: #338--Fintel Ridge special woods rule

Hi SP fans. Sorry to resurrect an old thread for nitpicking but noticed that the special woods rule has been left out of all three of Weasel's Red Army scenarios (now #182-184) in my v11.01-DL. Any...

Re: WIP Campaign "Za Rodinu!"

Got back to this campaign recently. In the third battle, where you must use a bridge to cross the river to gain the high-value objectives near the western map-edge, if the bridge is destroyed that...

Re: Acceptable US Casualties Against 3rd World Armies

US fatalities were 29,000 on D-Day? Some sources say more like 10,000-plus total casualties with over 4,000 KIA. Similar casualties for the Germans. Please correct me if that's wrong.

Quibble...

Re: A US view on how to counter the Russian BTG

Interesting. This would seem to contradict (or blissfully ignore?) the account linked by Wulfir in his thread "Lessons Learned from the Rus-Ukr war":

Re: Hi, new here

"Pewpewchewchew"'s videos on "Organized Chaos" (Scenario #1) for WW2 and "Viet Village" (Scenario #41) for MBT are definitely worth a look. He raised a few eyebrows among some of us "experienced"...

Re: Hi, new here

Yes. If you come in cold the learning curve for this game system is quite steep, even daunting or forbidding at first. But as DRG says keep plugging away on simpler, historically earlier scenarios...

Re: Steel Panthers-Individual Soldiers

Actually it would entail changing map scale, OOBs, combat results, etc. You're talking about a completely different game. Don't think it's gonna happen.

Re: Some new MBT and WW2 videos online

Yeah, Das Tactic is all right. His enthusiasm can be infectious. BTW when it was suggested he turn down the animations and message delay he said it interfered with the video for some reason (he's...

Re: MICLIC mineclearing?

Indeed. Should've taken the hint after losing time and a number units to shellfire while waiting for Pioneers to clear the road at the starting line. Ah well, maybe next time...

Re: MICLIC mineclearing?

Yes. Unfortunately in scenarios like Ulf Lundstrom's Kachanik Defile (#122) you've gotta go 4 to 5 klicks before you even get to the outskirts of town. With only 36 turns time's a bit tight. Maybe I...

Re: MICLIC mineclearing?

You can say that again. Had a Challenger 2 Mine Plow hit a minefield at 16 MPH and get immobilized. The Warrior (also at 16 MPH IIRC) following it with Pioneers aboard promptly blew up on a minefield...

Re: An idea about hull down position.

Sorry to be a nag, but would it be possible to make hull-down tanks harder to hit? If the game keeps track of higher turret hit probability, could it also reduce hit chance on the tank accordingly?...

Re: Golden Talon Campaign

There was only one field which affected a single platoon, while trucks and tanks plied mainly along the roads. Given winter movement restrictions though the scenario could've used an extra turn or...

Belay my last. Finally got past the second battle after restarting the campaign from scratch.

--Spoiler Alert--

THIS time lots more support points were spent on artillery instead of tanks (had...

Re: Anyone seen or heard anything about this

A salivating prospect indeed, although with advanced maturity comes the propensity to drool. Anyway sure hope it pans out before I croak!

Re: Game play -Seasons

Don't play random battles (yet), but I'm with Imp and Sas Troop when it comes to preferring anything but winter. Too slow.

Re: Load all?

Sorry for the double post, but unfortunately most mortar batteries and crews didn't match up. The crew for a mortar section would be designated "R5 Crew" but the tubes for R5 wouldn't show up, and...

Just used the basic "load all" for Wulfir's WW2 Paratroopers in the Pacific campaign after botching the 11th battle. Got so engrossed on loading manually, then plotting with the AO, forgot to load...

Thanks, but I can't seem to open them. Think you gotta include the CMT files with each save.

Anyway isn't there some kind of "unit rarity" limit to prevent buying so many scouts, AT squads and...

Sure, which point of the battle are you interested in ?[/QUOTE]

How about three saves, around turns 10 and 20 plus the last turn (34)? Thanks.
