That will be because the vision rating in SP is night vision equipment, and nothing whatsoever to do with optical rifle aiming sights. See the FC and perhaps RF stats for that, plus the individual...

US marine scout snipers by doctrine are probably the best example, or UK snipers. Usually they are used more as FO's or scouts rather than shooting (which of course they can do too).

One other thing, that is doable. Give all snipers in all time periods some vision bonus (10?-20 in later games?). Realistically they were used as recon troops and usually issued with spotting scopes...

It seems to me that motorcycle infantry dies much quicker compared to regular infantry when fired upon. Is that correct for the unit class or am I seeing things? Is it the same case for bicycle...

I've done most of the FC testing as you describe. The main issue seems to be that once movement gets up to a certain point accuracy really falls off. I may play with the accuracy ratings next to see...

Thanks Troopie, but this orbat is 2.0 and it most certainly doesn't work. The current mobhack will read it, and the unit names are there but no stats (all 0).
