Re: OT - Physics Question on Anti-Matter

If I may jump in...

It doesn't matter whether the frat boys need odd numbered rooms or not; there are an infinite number of them. There are an infinite number of rooms and as long as there is at...

Re: Does anyone still play SEIV?

I still play and would have interest for a new mod.

Heck, I still play SEIII on occasion as well.

Re: OT-Gaming

I had a huge empire like that once and gifted everything but one sphereworld loaded with WP's and orbited by a hundred or so defense bases.

It was a brand new game all over again. It was rather...

Re: OT: Building a new box

I have done this at Tigerdirect.com many times. They have very reasonable 'barebones' units that you can generally add whatever you want to them. Their barebones units usually come with a case, PS,...

Re: Very Cool Robot

Creepy but cool. If you think about how we take for granted going up and down stairs and then think about what a technological challenge it is to make a robot reproduce our movements. That to me is...

Re: OT: Shoveling snow...

I live in Maine and we have our share of cold and snow (not as much as BC of course) and that always makes me laugh as well when southern states are crippled by just a few flakes.

The thing we...

Very Cool Robot

Here is a somewhat long-ish video of the Honda Asimo robot going up and down stairs. Impressed me. Movement is very life-like.

Re: OT: Desk Tops

1680 X 1050. It's a wide screen laptop and yes it is an unusual resolution. Great for viewing DVD's - very close to the 16x9 / 1080i type stuff.

Re: capnq is in trouble, and may need our help

People don't realize that just walking across a carpet on a dry winter day, you can build up several thousand volts easily. Even the tiniest of sparks (from your hand to the doorknob perhaps) carry...

Re: Space Empires V Pirated!

Not me. And regardless of how many did, it still does not make it right nor does it invalidate AT's position nor does it validate the pirates position.

IMO that is a very poor arguement. It's...

Re: OT: The Lost Room (Sci-Fi Miniseries)

I watched it and rather enjoyed it as well myself. Altho I did miss a little while coding for an XML project...

I thought it was good enough to expand from the mini-series to a full series. ...

Re: Any way to tell a major empire from a minor?

I can usually tell right away by the empire flag. Minor races have single-color solid flags and major ones have "stuff" on 'em. Usually anyways...

Re: OT: Insightful (re: Amish shooting)

That would be subscribing to the Chaos Theory then, eh? All things naturally tend towards disorder? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I would agree with them actually.

Re: OT: One step closer to invisibility

I wonder if that same technology could harden electronic devices from EMP's in an atomic air blast. You would think it could if it were 'tuned' properly.

Re: OT: Insightful (re: Amish shooting)

Morality is a purely human concept.

God is sovereign so morality is not relevant.

I know it sounds lame but God doesn't have to explain anything to us humans. There are stories in the Bible...

Re: OT: A Nuclear North Korea

I agree with all those that talk about China. We need to somehow make China lean on NK a lot harder than it has been. One thing that hasnt' been mentioned (or at least I didn't see it) is that NK...

Re: Experts here, i need a new PC, budget: 1300 $

CRT's do give slightly better quality for fewer dollars but for me, the desk real estate is a big issue. With CRT's 19" and up, space is a problem IMO. To me, LCD is worth it and the quality...
