Re: Warcab 0.8.0 BETA version

While I'm at it, here's another question :)

When a unit is cross-attached to another formation, and the OOB record ID of the
formation is not changed, that new unit will probably not match the...

Re: Warcab 0.8.0 BETA version

Thanks, that's food for thought.

In the mean time, if anybody has ideas about tracking cross-attached units from battle to battle,
in order to "know" that unit B2 in the first battle is the same...

Re: Warcab 0.8.0 BETA version

Let's see if I get this right...

I'll be using the following notation: [unit id](formation leader unit id).
Please excuse the poor ascii art... (damn spaces got lost, no art today )

In...

Hey Lomaster,

As I said, I don't have experience with long campaigns, so forgive me this additional
question :), it might help me find solutions for that unexpected error you encountered
(the...

Hi Lomaster,

Thanks for your feedback and thanks for the praise! :)

Post Re: OT: looking for zovs66

Hi Mark,

The savegame data is stored in multiple blocks, some compressed and some not.

This comment from my source code explains it quite well, I think:

/* This is the SPWaW/winSPWW2...

Re: Battle dates: year, month, day, hour?

No problem. :)

Warcab is a tool to record and track battles in an SPWaW campaign, or to
record and track turns in standalone battles from scenarios. It is inspired by
Campaign Watcher.

And I...

Re: Battle dates: year, month, day, hour?

DRG, thanks, I find your suggestion quite sensible! :)

This is indeed what I was considering: an automatic battle date day 'assignment',
based on the day of the previous battle in the same month....

Re: Battle dates: year, month, day, hour?

It is possible to generate a campaign lasting 1 month with 200 battles in it...:mean:[/QUOTE]

Oh, I see.

Well, if 200 battles a month makes sense to you, who am I to argue with that....

because this assumes that winSPWW2 is the exclusive creator of...

Re: Battle dates: year, month, day, hour?

Thanks Don, that's certainly a possibility.

But, it would make the user interaction less predictable, and I am not so fond of that.

However, if:

we are willing to accept warcab substituting...

Question Re: Battle dates: year, month, day, hour?

Thanks, DRG.

It's not what I was hoping to read, but it is a clear and final answer.

I'll consider in what way to adjust warcab so that it can better cope with this.

One option mentioned...

Question Battle dates: year, month, day, hour?

Hi,

Quick note: unit readiness is also a synthetic value, there is no such thing in the savegame data.

Re: OT: looking for zovs66

Yep, that's the idea.

With a savegame for each turn of a battle, it becomes possible to track the progress of the battle turn by turn:

By looking at the different 'Turn' tabs turn by turn....

Re: OT: looking for zovs66

No hard game data is used for the influence calculation, it is not as such recorded in the savegame.
At least not that I know. If it was in there I would have used it.

Instead it's a very simple...
