Abandoning units

Is it possible to order a unit crew to abandon their weapon? It would be nice to use on crewed weapons that have been spotted and are not doing anything useful.

This is good practice anyway as the buttoned tanks lose firing and spotting ability. Shoot with the units far away first and button so the closer ones are not spotted.

I think a tank heavy army is the easiest way to get a huge casualty ratio. I like using infantry actually but once you have a lot they are too vulnerable to artillery, even just random fires. I might...

Difficulty = very hard

It is not so good that the algorithm judges them to be equally good; 6 vs 2 is a pretty large gap. I don't think I have ever killed a tank with the HE round from that gun actually.

Yes I see you are correct about the CS BT - however the CS BT used to (some or one mod ago) fire with the AP. Early game the AP round used to be pretty useful.

The Soviet T-28 M1938 seems to never fire its 10 AP rounds; even though the main gun does 6 pen for AP and only 2 for HE.

I tried kludging it by giving it two guns; one only with HE and one only...

Both are on default, I just downloaded the latest mod and wanted to try it out. I would add also the problem does not seem to be the AI just under-spawning; it also over-spawns.

Sorry for the confusion; by 'user generated scenario screen' I meant the 'preferences screen' as this is used to adjust points for user generated battles or in my confusing language 'scenarios'...

I just noticed this, but in the long (and possibly user created) campaign the AI points seem to be not follow the standard formula but be capped or otherwise effected by the points in the user...

Yes, it is effective enough, but from the blast damage, sometimes the destroyed tank is in another hex altogether. anyways, that is not the big issue.

what I would like to see is the HE rounds on...

What would be great is for HE rounds to have a chance in direct and indirect fires to score a direct hit on hard targets and thus achieve higher penetration.
