Even if they hadn't cast those globals, weren't you worried about killing their pretender, or whoever cast the spell? It seems pretty likely you'd do that before taking their very last province.

Pretty sure there's at least one blood site which does that, though I don't recall the particulars. I might just be thinking of one of the unrest-increasing blood sites.

I was under the impression that spellcasting could only bring you to the threshhold of HP damage, and only fatigue-inducing spells and negative reinvigoration could actually inflict said damage....

Pretty sure mages can only expend gems from a hybrid spell's first path, as that's the one that determines a spell's effective casting level.

So you're certain it doesn't mean the first nation in the resolution sequence gets the slot, and all the nations thereafter are treated exactly as though they'd cast a spell with 5 globals already...
