Re: Helicopter Evasion

If your not careful a decent MBT can blast them. I find that T-80's are great at that, as the ATGM is very likely to kill the helicopter.

Re: Naval Gun on Land Map

I only did it once! :D

I wonder if we can still chuck Ammo Dumps and such out the back of a Herc, as a Ghetto bomber (sorry been playing Supreme Commander too much recently).

Hang on, that...

Re: Naval Gun on Land Map

Great :D I recently got my rear handed to me by a massed Para battalion drop with support Vehicles. Funny really. You'd think a Dug in Company with Bunkered Heavy weapons on 4 sides of an open drop...

Re: Armour vs. civilian

Very realistic.

Bloke nonchalantly walks up beside the Tank.
Bloke then pulls the external Fire Extinguisher system handle.
Tank is knocked out, Crew have a strong incentive to get out.

Re: Naval Gun on Land Map

Bit harsh. Having a regular opponent is great fun, because occasionally you can pull some silly stuff which you both laugh about. My Main PBEM opponent and I have been playing since SP1 on his 386.

Re: Air units?

Check the Weather for that battle. Sometimes Weather will effect if a plane is available.

Re: ERA Armour

The British don't use ERA. Those are just blocks of extra armour. I managed to prove that to the game designers a few years back, and they included it in the game. Have a look at the challenger 2+ ;)

Re: air strikes

Never had that problem. Here's why I think your having trouble.

For some reason you MUST set the approach and exit area's before you give the aim point.

All KA-52 (fifty two) are available from 2005 onwards in the...

Re: HARM - too weak in penetration?

I'm on the other end of the spectrum. Air is insanely deadly. Losing a couple of BMP's to shell splinters from a JDAM impact at 100 meters range was impressive (the Same also happened to some land...

Re: HARM - too weak in penetration?

Take a SEAD aircraft with PGM's as its secondary weapon. That's allot more deadly than it sounds. the ARM code attracts the ARM to the hex with the Radar in, then the PGM attacks the same hex. I've...

Re: SABOT rounds

Sabot rounds are like AP rounds, just with different stats. I don't know if they're an exact clone of AP or not. As the Range increases, the AP score drops off. So firing at long ranges its better to...

Re: Western/Israeli MBT HEAT armor too high?

Its not ERA. I proved this on the old forums, and since then there's been options for a "Challenger 2+" with the Extra armour packs on the sides and front.

Re: Western/Israeli MBT HEAT armor too high?

Yes, this list stops at the start of last year as that's when I found it.

CR2's killed to date:
25/3/2003 Hit by HESH round from a friendly tank. Round went...

Just as a point of note:
In the older games RPO's where lethal against tanks. In one game I nailed about 30 Leopard 2's with them. They've been downgraded at some point recently. Despite...

Re: Smoke vs buildings

Why not just smoke the building their in, move up and beat the snot out of them? Ti scouts if you've got it, TI tanks if not.

Or take up positions and wait for your smoke to clear.
