Re: Arab vs Israel Campaign

As a rule-of-thumb you're best firing ATGMs at about 50% of their maximum range and no closer then around 25% (there are OF COURSE exceptions).

As to tanks, if your opposition is dug in try to...

Re: Mine clearing device PW-LWD

Yeah, that's one of the reasons we borrowed equipment from Israel and South Africa during Gulf I. It wasn't really until bout 2004 the US started to get any significant combat engineering capability.

Re: Mine clearing device PW-LWD

Apparently some people aren't familiar with line charges.

During Gulf I when we were breaching the minefields there were some Iraqi's on the other side waiting to surrender and watching (that was...

Re: Simulation of Gas Attacks?

Against fully equipped and adequately trained troops chemical warfare is more of a pain-in-the-*** then a killer. VS non equipped or poorly trained troops it's rather pointless to represent it in a...

Re: APC Development and related topics.

Nothing really new there. Lots of cancelled projects during WW II and while I can't think of anything specific I'm sure there were a good many during the American Civil War.

About the only time I have trouble with overload is virtually every time I do a scenario involving the Soviets ;)

Tho it occasionally comes up on smaller scenarios where there is extensive air...

Re: The Iraqi Lost Legion - generated campaign

Bazooka/RPG/LAW.

Remember teams are 2-man, size 0, thus harder to hit then squads which are size 1.

Re: The Iraqi Lost Legion - generated campaign

I think you'll find ATGMs far more useful then ATGs in defense scenarios as they "dig in" as infantry, and foxholes tend to be harder to hit then weapon emplacements.

Re: Merkava 4M AAMG vs Infantry

You're talking the Israeli OOB 4M?

Currently any weapon in weapon slot #4 acts as a bow machinegun, thus has a limited (60 degree to the front as I recall) arc of fire.

Additionally it...

USMC - New Sniper Rifle

Well, it's official, I need to add a new weapon to the USMC OOB and change some dates and create some new units.

Re: Bear vs Dragon

2x60mm per infantry company.
6x82mm per infantry battalion.
6x120mm per infantry regiment.

So the number of mortars wasn't out of proportion to the amount of infantry that counterattacked. It's...

Sounds like you "enjoyed" the human wave attacks from (primarily) the west and were kept busy with various probing attacks from elsewhere. Bit of a shame you caught the armored thrust from the south...

Re: Amphibious Vehicles and Streams

Amphibious vehicles are just as susceptible to mud, rough terrain, and stream embankments as any other vehicle.

Their advantage lies in that they can cross "deep water".

They MAY be less...

Re: Bear vs Dragon

The is VERY valuable to me as a scenario designer.

Not only for what's actually happens but more so for what what you're thinking as various AI units appear and open fire.

Thanks a lot !!!
