Re: Autocannons, are they as good as they look on paper?

Okay, must be me playing russians and their godawful vodka-assisted targeting then.

Autocannons, are they as good as they look on paper?

Is it just me and my incredible bad luck or do autocannons generally miss even at high probability?

They look really nice on paper, ACC in the low 20s, 4-6 PEN, but they can't seem to hit the...

Re: PBEM Fail Problem

That's highly unusual. I would say that this community is quite matured (yes, old), and if it is an actual case of cheating, it's quite odd.

Otoh, could it just be a glitch? I don't really see any...

Re: Random Spotting

I saw it on my turn. It was nicely blocked by a building, but I could see that it had moved as well.

I guess it's one of those quirks of the game. Don't let it occupy your thoughts too much. The...

Smile Re: 2020 update

Checking why there is a difference in movement rates for various HMG types. I can provide more specific examples but in the Italian orbat. 1 particular type has 6 movt points, while others vary from...

Re: Scoring

I think decisive is only awarded when you win by a factor of 7 or 8.

I also think you took too much arty, which kinda made it a lot more difficult to get decisive.

Re: Random Spotting

It was a city map, so plenty of ways to block LOS.

My air didn't fly that turn

Since its a pbem, would you be able to determine what happened if I send the files to you?

Random Spotting

Am in the middle of a PBEM and I was able to spot 1 of my opponent's units without having LOS.

I thought it was unfair advantage, so I told him and thought it was because his unit's size was 5...

National Chinese LC

Started a campaign in middle '31, but I've not met the Japanese yet after 5 battles. Been fighting rogue Nat. Chinese and Communists so far.

Would be good to have some probability of fighting...

Inf AAMG vs HMG

Are these different in terms of accuracy when engaging ground troops?

Does the HMG enjoy bonus to being spotted over the AAMG?

Otherwise, purely from a defensive POV, should I not favour the...

Re: Infantry class differences, MG fire modes while delaying

Well. I'll hate to be your type of Fallschirm. I wouldn't like to be dropped next to my enemy. Close yes, but at least 700m away.

Jokes aside, the units are not always so uniform. Some platoons...

Turn 22

Re: Italian Long Campaign

Turn 15

1st Company

We found the EN infantry in position here at the forward slope. It was approx. 2 platoons in size. We can only guess that the remaining platoon is probably deployed on the...

Re: Italian Long Campaign

Turn 13

2nd Company

Our arty is suppressing the EN infantry very well. They are routing. I take the opportunity to push the lead platoon forward. Also note N platoon coming up on our left...

Re: Italian Long Campaign

Turn 9

3rd Company

We send 1 platoon to secure the objectives in this sector. If there are signs of at least 1 EN platoon, we will have to provide additional support to ensure quick success. We...

Re: Italian Long Campaign

Turn 8

Back to 2nd Company.

Our point platoon (N Platoon) moves off the road and will comb the left flank, providing cover from the high ground. L platoon takes the lead and will continue to...

Re: Italian Long Campaign

A quick discussion on offensive type of missions.

When moving to contact, the usual problem is weighing off momentum vs dispersal.

You want to keep your forces upfront moving, and with...

Re: Italian Long Campaign

Turn 4

We contacted an EN platoon while moving along the road.

- Plotted indirect fires
- Established a firebase with HMGs and direct fire mortars
- Moved our armoured cars for closer...

Re: Italian Long Campaign

1st Company's initial plan

I had bought a platoon of heavy trucks, and managed to fit the entire company into it, less 1 platoon.

1 of my HMG platoons are also mounted on pack mules and they...

Re: Italian Long Campaign

We had the choice of a special mission for a quick Advance.

The map is still quite similar to our last battle, alot of craggy rocky ground.

Fortunately, we have a E-W road running almost in the...

Battle Report

The EN brought alot of artillery for this one. They shelled our arty park a fair bit but we were able to shift our guns to alternate positions.

I was also pretty pleased with the...
