Re: My most sincere congratulations

I'd like to pile another scoop of congratulations on this cone. The only downside of this game is that it makes me sigh every time I catch sight of the 4 U-Haul boxes in my closet, full of 1/285th...

Re: Move Take Back

Re: Infantry vs tanks

Good ole Squad Leader. I was playing in a game at a convention once, and one of my Russian squads went berserk and proceeded to wipe an enemy company before it was shut down.

Things happen in...

Re: Sort request for the CD/$DL version

Your best bet would be to use the Mobhack utility to dump the encyclopaedia contents as .csv files and import them into a spreadsheet program (I use both MS Excel and OpenOffice Calc). Once in...

Re: UI Request

I pay attention to the bottom status bar quite a bit. That's where I can see the type and size of enemy artillery to which I'm being subjected, which can make a difference to my artillery planning. ...

Re: Replacement rate for frontline units in WW2

I'm pretty sure the only hard and fast rule about replenishment rate is Not Fast Enough.

There's an appropriate Bill Mauldin panel about replacements, where the supply sergeant is telling his...

Re: Smoke overrated?

Just wondering if this happened on the assault, and especially into trenches. For instance, in the Kursk campaign I would z-fire main gun rounds through smoke into trenches 150-200 meters away from...

Re: which WW2 books are you reading?

I keep trying to read Arnhem 1944 by Middlebrook, but it's a bit of a struggle; the author's style is not to my taste. I keep drifting back to re-read my favorites, either Morison's Two-Ocean War or...

Strange (to me) artillery mechanism

I'm in the early stages (two battles completed) of a Russian LC, and I noticed what I consider a somewhat odd artillery behavior.

I have some 120mm mortars in my core. In my first battle, after...
