I think he was asking for a shortcut key to as his middle mouse button is erratic.
Quick fix buy a new mouse or download a free keyboard mapping program, you can set hotkeys to whatever you want...

Think of the take cover command as relocate try to break LOS if think you have been spotted. or no you have been as fired on. Of course you have no idea if you were successful till the next turn so...

Open terrain like you mentioned if the squad had any sense they would be dispersed and using bounding movement.

They are normally on your side cannot remember one when they are not. They take damage you lose points and you cannot target them directly

I am a bit confused changing the hex scale will not stop change the number of shots a unit takes against a moving target so it will still move the same number of hexes for the same number of fires....

Its well worth playing for the clash, fair bit of shuttling units involved but okay as forces decisions, could have used the Leos better if had known but plan was pretty much same as Aeraaa.

This map does have level zero terrain as well?
Ask as hill heights needed are those between min & max terrain height.

Messing with vertical scale has issues, namely blind hexes produced.
