Re: What is the next upgrade for my CD WinSPMBT?

You sir are absolute correct sir. I realized my mistake after I installed v2.0 thru v5.5 with old update file saves. Then I recalled the removal of 'program file' from the path. Old age what is one...

Re: What is the next upgrade for my CD WinSPMBT?

I'm getting the same version 'WinSPMBT v1.012-CD'. This is on the installed program. Some back ground, I just saw the new updates for 2023 and installed them (WW2 and MBT). MBT would not open at all...

Re: UN and mines

Yep, the UN took the WHA! out of War. I recall watching the night time cluster bombing of the Benghazi Airport from the aircraft flir when the sorties returned, thinking I wouldn't want to be...

Re: M1028 Cannister Tank round

M1028 Cannister Tank round

Any chance of modeling this tank round? It's about as far from HE as it could get. I realize there might be no way to add another type of round.

I saw this round demonstrated on Discovery Science...

Re: immobilized vehicles

Excellent point, but also consider that unless you’re a combat photographer (also out of scope of this game, and not in the OOB), you’re not standing around taking candid buddy photos under fire...

Re: Anyone seen or heard anything about this

Yeah, I'm a bit skeptical, as I've heard other games compared to Steel Panthers over the years. The Close Combat series comes to mind, a decent game for real time, but that's not even close IMO. I'd...

Re: Best WWII Films

Operation Crossbow - German rockets with a touch of Sophia Loren.
Counterfeit Traitor - No combat but a spy movie set in Germany during the war. Lots of suspense.

Re: immobilized vehicles

Always wondered about this. Not so much a damaged vehicle, but one that appears immobilized due to mud or snow, especially a truck loaded with troops. I believe I'd have everyone pushing or another...

Anyone seen or heard anything about this

Interesting. I wonder if this will happen or if it could be done any better than it is here?

Re: Damaged vs. Destroyed

A bit OT but wasn't there a graphic on the original SP where the turret could be blown off? It would just show a black spot around the turret ring. I might be mistaken. That would be good to see once...

Re: Explorer issue with latest patch.

Andy I believe my native resolution is makes the game screen too tiny for me (also zooming too tight pixelate's too much for my taste).

I initially thought a script to check for, and start if...

Re: Explorer issue with latest patch.

Don I'm run 1680 x 1050 on the 22" screen. Will be moving to a 24" HDMI I have on hand shortly.

Hmmm I just noticed I never changed the game settings from 1152 x 864. Holy moley, just tested that....

Andy no I haven't alt-tabbed out, but thinking back, I have installed to another drive (path other than default). If that is the issue, I don't mind restarting explorer manually, it's a small...

Re: New long campaign player needs tips.

Something else to consider, increase the map size a little to give your support units a little breathing room, but not too much or you'll spend a number of turns just getting to the front.

Speed...

Re: Choice of AP or HE?

Hey this is slightly off topic, but relates to HE/AP. Wouldn't it be great if medium and heavy machine guns were handled like armor main guns in the selection of HE/AP rounds? Not sure exactly when...

Has this happened to anyone else?

I was into the second battle, a meeting engagement, of a long campaign (solitaire). Ger vs GB in the desert. I quickly rushed the three groups of victory hexes and had control of them by the third...

Re: Full (or near full) screen Win 7 fix

Sorry I wasn't clear, I did not mean the "Intro Screen" per se (I've had that turned off so long I forgot about it). For me the opening screen is the choose scenario or custom battle/campaign screen....

Re: Full (or near full) screen Win 7 fix

Don, prior to Win 7, I used Vista for almost a year. I never had any lag with SPWW2 or MBT (but please remember I'm not having it with Win 7 either).

I did have the lesser scrambled palette...
