CS tanks usually have some HEAT as the A/T ammo since HEAT is dual-purpose against grunts (beyond the 4 kept in hand) and is also good versus bunkers etc. Some CS tanks may have sabot or AP though,...

The MMg/HMG Unit Class is your goto for hosing down enemy infantry - it usually has more range (esp if 12.7mm HMG) than AAMGS. And more crew, so more survivable. HMGs are more often 2 or 3 gun...

What exactly is the thing, and what did you do with it (e.g. drop it off from a landing craft?). What is the terrain - height (is it deep water etc.).

There is a calculation made as to the best type for the shot. I personally have not seen much use of HEAT in inappropriate times.

But then again, I usually stick to the earlier models in German...

making them size 0 would result in the end user utilising them as scouts - and in SP1 days that was a complaint IIRC. So later versions used size 1.

Abbots were available ~10 years before the 105 light gun - otherwise you would be stuck with the 105 pack howitzer 65-75. The pack has less range, so would be counter-batteried easily and unable to...

Looks like the crews take their size from the vehicle they bail out of - and that looks like it has been so since SSI days. Good catch - nobody has spotted that bug in 15+ years!.

The enemy vehicle, if not already spotted will be spotted by the usual rules, normally. But sometimes it will remain a "ghost" unspotted and you only notice it if someone stays parked in its hex,...

That technique probably will work, and could save you some main gun ammo. Not such a good idea for firing at targets that might reply with a full sized round, though..
