Hi,
I followed the registry change directions AND I started the game from scratch and it works!!! I can now start the allies move 2 file (redone by my opponent, after we both re-started a fresh game) in the demo!!! Hooray. The final step I had overlooked, after correcting the registry and re-setting a password - delete the old game and start from scratch! Thank you to all who sent Messages of help!
Now I really look forward to receiving the full, boxed, game, complete with manual. I ordered it from Navalwarfare.org, a game site.
