Simple,
in all versions of SPWW2 and SPMBT you are able to select Player#1 as human or computer controlled, just as you like. As far as I have seen this flexibility for the player is now gone in both campaign modes, but is still present in battle mode.
The attached screen only shows up in battle but not in campaign mode. I hope that makes clear what I´m talking about.
