Correct me if I am wrong but if anything with the exception of perhaps co axial machine guns if anything tank mg are more powerful than they should be. Reducing range or indeed the accuracy of the weapon to compensate makes sense especially if talking modern era tanks.
My understanding is firecontrol, rangefinder, giro stats apply to all weapons so if anything they are to accurate.
BMG in general & just guessing are really more for close defence or pinning the enemy.
