I lost a _lot_ of Marignese mages once by getting them all to cast Phoenix Power (50% FR) and someone to cast Army of Gold (50% FR), believing it would save them from the firestorm I then cast. Nope, it didn't - they stayed at 50% FR. 26 dead mages as I recall.
