Russia has the
7th Guard Mountain Air Assault Division they are like all Russian Airborne troops "
highly" mechanized. But like our
10th Mountain do specialize and train for the terrain they are named for. Also it is suggested they are more akin to be called "
Para-Commandos".
The quote below indicates they recently within the last couple of years operated in the Ukraine.
