so probably not a lot of those in UK service at all. Usually seen as a portee mount, attributed to the LRDG rather than as towed AT used by the regular forces. I bet Sudan would have bought maybe 24 items or even less. |
According to Polish historian W. Mazur, there were 75 or 80 guns delivered before the war to British forces in Egypt (I don't know, if they were meant for Sudan). Anyway, they were quite noticeable during the war in the desert. They were ordered from Swedish Bofors in June 1939, but manufactured for Bofors in Polish works, which produced the guns under the licence.
