Default Re: Greek OOB31 v.9

Guns etc.

18 20mm AT-Gun - the page http://ww2greece.wargaming.info/equipment.htm doesn't mention such weapons - neither does Polish article on Greek Army in "Technika Wojskowa Historia" 6/2015 (further quoted as TWH). They mention only Italian Solothurn - we have it as Inf.AT no.478.

19 25mm AT-Gun - there's no info on French 25 mm in Greece

20 37mm AT-Gun - photo should be Pak - Greece bought 24 (mentions at http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtop...?f=12&t=158435 and http://ww2greece.wargaming.info/equipment.htm).
I guess, that a weapon #15 should be an ordinary Pak-35/36 with AP pen.5 (like German Pak)

24 St.Etienne AAMG - a photo is a water-cooled Norwegian(?) Maxim (replaced currently in NOR OOB with sth else).
A photo of Greek St.Etienne AAMG is here http://greekmilitary.net/WW2/2003976433318363763_rs.jpg (from page http://greekmilitary.net/WW2.htm)

25,290 65mm Field Gun [class Inf Spt Gun] - should be Inf Gun.
Weapon #31 65mm M13 Cannon was in fact M06 Cannon - http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtop...?f=12&t=158435
Range 142 is too big - it was 5500 m according to quoted page and https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canon_...mm_de_montagne (or 6 km according to a Polish book).
(Same for weapon #37 65mm wz.06 in Polish OOB BTW - should be "wz.06 gun").
Slightly better icon seems 2108, used also for Polish gun.

26 47mm AT-Gun - maybe it's better to name it Cpt 47mm AT-Gun?

27,291 75mm Field Gun - [class Inf Spt Gun] - should be Inf or Mtn Gun. Weapon #32 75mm Skoda M.28 is not mentioned on a comprehensive forum page quoted above. Could be Skoda M.15, but there were only 22 guns (range 7 km). More typical seems M.08 Schneider-Danglies, but it has range only 5800 m. Weapon #32 has too big range 174 in both cases.

The most numerous 75mm was M1919 Schneider L/19 mountain gun, with a range of 9000 km, but it was used in mountain arty regiments, not as infantry gun (see quoted page).
"Greek infantry divisions were actually "Mountain" type; its artillery regiments had two Mnt. guns battalions (two batteries each) and one Mnt. howitzer battalion (also two batteries), making the 75mm mountain guns the backbone of Greek Artillery".

There is also a TOE of an infantry division http://ww2greece.wargaming.info/file...y-division.pdf

28,460,469 6.5mm Fiat MMGs - a photo is hard to say what MG. An Italian 2391 might be used instead.

30 3in Mortar - and article in "Technika Wojskowa Historia" claims, that the British delivered them already during a defence of Greece, so maybe they should start at 1/41? (now 6/41). Or there might be created another unit, with Greek rifle.

33,468 St Etienne HMGs
- as above. A nice photo is http://greekmilitary.net/WW2/2003887730253362891_rs.jpg (from page http://greekmilitary.net/WW2.htm)

34,461,470 8mm Breda MMGs
- as above. A photo might be Italian 849

36 Anti Tank Rifle - there's no sign of such weapon. Possibly it's meant to be Polish 7.92mm wz.35 Ur, which was considered to be bought before the war.

37 Boys AT Rifle - according to Polish article in "Poligon", they were available as soon as 11/40 - 24 were delivered maybe even earlier (now 1946). Maybe there should be created second entry, with Greek rifle? (could replace unit 36 above)

43 Rifle Squad - as for weapon #95: Greece in fact didn't use 8mm M1909 LMG (Hotchkiss Portative), but 6000 of its 6.5mm variant M1922/26 - but we already have a squad 049 with M1926 LMG... BTW - photo 16204 is better for both LMG-equipped sections.
There were also 6000 Chauchats, but it's for desperados...

46,292 105mm Field Gun [inf spt gun] - weapon 247 105mm M11 Gun should be M1919 (Schneider) - http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtop...?f=12&t=158435 Range was bigger - 8000 m (now 120). However, it was used in the third (howitzer) battalion of divisional arty regiments, not as infantry gun.

47,293 150mm Field Gun - there's no sign of usage of German siG-33 (or any other 150mm infantry guns).
Could be eventually French 155mm Mle.17 Schneider heavy howitzer.
