Carrier Battles Mod 8

The war against The Imperial Empire as raged on from nearly the day contact has been established. Up until this date the war has been mall scale. The Imperials have destroyed 3 Ramtan scout vessels keeping tabs on their fleets from behind the lines. For our side we destroyed some colony ships that ventured into our space and glassed some enemy colonies in a contested system.


Our offensive had taken many years to come together. The first major battle was on the eve of begining as the invasion force tranversed the Edam Nebulae dividing the Ramtans from the Imperials. Stardate 2404.7 the battle began on the warp point into the Langui system. To our surprise the Imperials had moved an impressive fleet to protect the point(5 Nautilus class destroyers, 2 Penitent class carriers). Our prior inteligence had suggested the Imperials fleet was small and scattered. However our force as more than ready for the challenge,led by the 8 light carriers(RIS Kregor, Hathaway, Palsgrove,Falcon, Hypnotic, Charpentier, Longshanks, and Rutigliano) and support cruiser RIS Taurus. The Ramtan fleet jumped into battle in an arrowhead formation against the Imperial scattered formation. The initial bombardment caused heavy damage to the RIS Kregor. However that was the best the Imperials could offer as the Ramtans even in the surprise of hitting the Imperials large fleet we were able to launch multiple squadrons of Raptor, Viper, Swallow and Sparrow class fighters which after a slug fest were able to destrey the Imperial Tie fighters. The battle raged on for what seemed like hours. In the end the Ramtans succeeded in clearing the point and creating a beachhead in Imperial space. All Imperial ships were destroyed with no survivors seen,while the RIS Kregor took severe damage but somehow managed to stay together while the Hathaway and Falcon also took moderate damage. With the beachhead established intense battles can be guarenteed.
