National Socialism is not very efficient. It creates parallel political and industrial structures doing the same thing, groveling for the Führer's attention and favor. In many ways a very capitalist way of doing things: competition at every level, which in a war of course translates to chaos.
The best example for this, to me, is the Hermann Göring "Paratroop" Armored Division. Imagine the US Airforce wanting to create an armored division out of the blue... preposterous.
