Default noobie problem with mods

Hello;

I just got Dominions 2 a few hours ago, having been playing the demo for the Last three weeks. One of the first things I wanted to try was using some of the mods I have seen. So I have downloaded a few mods. I cannot make any of them work. Obviously I am doing something fairly basic wrong, but I have not been able to figure out what from reading the modding manual PDF, or looking on the Boards. Suggestions on what might be wrong and what can be done about it would be appreciated.

From the Dom 2 main menu go to Preferences, then to Mod Preferences. Installed mods should be listed there. You can enable/disable mods by left-clicking on their name.

You install mods by copying their files into the "mods" subdirectory under the Dominions root directory.

Have you applied the latest patch? Mod capability a feature added after the initial release.

Thanks, I hadn't checked under preferences (how foolish of me). That seems to turn them on just fine.
