Default BGC1 Screen Resolution

I just purchased BGC1 and it looks like 1280x1024 is the highest screen resolution I can run it. My monitor supports 1920x1200. Is there a way to force the screen resolution higher than the ones available in Options? I tried editing the settings file, but it didn't seem to do anything.

One of the things I really like about TSATC is that it will run any res that I want it to.

If this is all the higher of a res the engine now supports, it seems like a step back to me,

The AATF Engine (on which BGC1 is built) will support ANY resolution that your video card will support in Direct X 9 or later. Change the lines in "settings.txt" in the BGC1 install directory to read as follows:

Quote:
[windowed]FALSE
[window width]1920
[window height]1200
After you do this DO NOT start the setup program (by selecting settings in the game start menu) or the settings will revert to a default setting.

Let me know if this doesn't work for you. I just tested it here and it worked fine.

Thanks for verifying that for me, Patrick. I was hoping it was just something not working on my end.

I tried editing the file in the BGC1 folder and still had the same issue. But then I got to thinking... I'm in Vista.

So, I remembered Vista's unusual way of handling files in the Program Files folder. I had to edit the setting.txt file that Vista created in this folder...
C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\ProSIM Company\Battle Group Commander Episode One
Works great now!

Hi,

Just for your info. In XP, the folder will be

C:\Program Files\ProSIM Company\Battle Group Commander Episode One

Working in 1600x1200 on XP as well!

Doh! Good catch. Thanks for the info. I am sure you are not the only person who will run into this.
