Default Change unit type, civilians and rank

Would it be hard to add the option to change unit typ in scenario editer? The reason I wanted to was to allow an artillery piece on a barge to fire indirectly.

Also - could civilians be added to an OOB (probably green and or red) for scenario design - I know it can be done by editing other units but it seems like an easy change which would be elegant

Finaly, does rank for a commander have any game effect? If not could one rank (probably highest or lowest) be made something non-specific such as "Comrade" for a communist nation? It would be more eligant in campaigns where the PC changes rank (promoted or demoted) part way through - A small thing, but if it's easy to do it would be nice.

Look at the change unit command in the editor, and the buy as allies/own side purchase routines. (Find a boat type that can fire indirect (LCS or LCG) in your or another OOB and then edit that, basically - and look at the extended scenario editor Scenhack if you have the full CD game - you can edit the unit icon back to a barge in that).

Civilians are already there in the UN OOB, along with the cars, buses, parked planes etc. Use the buy as allies.friends function.

Rank does not really do much - it is a string. It reflects the skill level of the leader is all, and the name comes from the rank text file for the particular OOB, so try editing the ranks text file?
