Disk Bretteville Pack (Cyberstrategie SPWW2 v2.x Conversion)

These two scenarios were done on special request for Yves; who played them long ago through the now-defunct French wargaming magazine "Cyberstrategie" which included scenarios on CDROM with each issue -- and an open submittal policy with regards to the readership -- if your scenario got picked for inclusion, you got a free one years' subscription to the magazine.

Anyway; this was a fairly long conversion -- at first, I checked Hapschott's SP1 scenario compendium, since I recalled that there was a "cyber" directory within his zip. No go there.

Ultimately, I found some ISOs of the old Cyberstrategie CDROMS online;and took a look at them.

The scenarios turned out to be old SP2WW2 (or very early SPWW2 v2.x) scenarios; meaning that map conversion was fairly straightforward.

I learned a lot in how to use SCENHACK in this scenario; as I was changing unit names a lot and changing unit types as well. Ultimately, I'd say these are only 75% accurate scenarios due to the way the OOBs changed so much in between August 1999 (the Filedates of the original two scenarios) and today's OOBs in 2015.

Word of warning -- if you're using Fred's WW2Map to convert older SP1 or SP2 scenarios over to WinSP... remember that it doesn't convert over the damage levels!

Scenario Description:

Basically, both scenarios portray the attack of the 12th SS-Panzer Regiment and attached units against the Canadians.

The Night scenario is pretty historical; while the day scenario is a hypothetical -- what if the Germans had waited to bring up more of the 12th SS-PzRgt and attacked the next day?

Gotta request, hopefully you find this effective: Can you create a ONE THREAD besides those existing like "My Conversions" and use it to list all your converted campaigns and missions? Gonna be a lot easier to move around for all of us perhaps

This excellent old french magazine was named Cyberstratège.

What is left is an internet site: http://www.wargamer.fr/
