I'm only getting the very top portion of the map. The rest seems cut off. I can see the top of what I think is Denmark....

The best equpiped polish army were first and secound. 4-th army was a reserve equiped with oldest weapons.
In plan 1-th army should be transported to DDR at lanuch atack from western Maklenburgy in the direction of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. After two/three days poles schould destroy a Northern Jutland NATO Corps and went to the Elba(Laba) river and German-Denmark border. In secound phase polish 1-th army crosing Elba river and throught the plateau of lover Saksony schuld atack to the line of Rhine river and Holland. After that new tragets to atack should be mark by Warsaw pact command.
4-th army tragets was another. The Army should be mobilized fast as posible because during pace was only ready in 30%. after mobilization should be transported to Germany-Denmark border and launch atack on Jutland peninsula Danish islands and than ocupation of this cauntry. This army was poor equiped but rusians planed a terror nuke atack on Esbjerg and Roskilde for the broken of defend spirit in Danish nation. Next thing was that , they have to assist polish 6-th para division (red berrets) in plans should land on Zeland island near Kopenhagen and Rusians paras landed on another islands. From the sea should lands 7-th sea infantery division (blue berrets) with asistance of DDR sea infantery brigade. Air-Sea landing should be supported by rusians , polish and east german navy. In secound phase this forces should be used in landing in southern Norway near Oslo. 2-th army from Southern Poland should be transported to southern DDR and assist rusians in atack throught middle germany to the line of Rhine river.

A note: Poland has no nuclear weapon but has good equiped tactical rocket force and in rusians plans from years 60-89 polish used a short range nuclear rocket recived from USSR if WWIII begun.

Wonderful info you have here, Blazejos!

If I may ask a question, when does this plan dates back to? Or is it an approximate standard for the whole of the Cold War?

Another question, though I guess I already know the answer: does that mean that the Soviets were seriously considering nuke strikes all over Europe in any case? Gee...
Does that mean that ALL our scenarios for fictional conventional/medium-scale East-West engagements should be wasted?

And finally, does that mean that the Polish and East-German troops would go on and invade Denmark on the same line as the Soviets, even in sea/air landings, or were they planned as a second wave?

"WARSZAWSKI MILITARY DISTRICT (Warszawa)" that is - 4th army
poor equiped (for example old T-34 in 1963 and T-54 in 1984) ready for fights in Denmark. Secound line army except

6 Air Landing Division (Krakow) - polish elite para Division formed in 1957 core of Warsaw pact first line forces for take danish islands.

"POMORSKI MILITARY DISTRICT (Bydgoszcz)" that is - 1th army good equiped because that was a first line army. Part of this army :

7 Landing Division (Gdansk-Wrzeszcz) was for seaborne operation in Denmark together with DDR seaborne Division and rusians units. I think that division was half of all units ready for landing from sea on danish isles

Default Re: Plans of use Polish army in hipotetical WWIII

That wasen't plan for all Could war. From 1945 to Stalin's deth the plans was stricte defensive. Read here http://www.isn.ethz.ch/php/documents...plan2-engl.htm
Polish army was ready for defense from sea side and eventualy for help rusians in the Berlin - Hamburg
direction. See 1952 OOB http://orbat.com/site/history/histor.../army1952.html

This plan with Denmark invasion was created after the birth of Warsaw pact. And I think was to socialistic camp calypse in 1989.

Meaby something should be "improved" in this what if scenerios
For example: You go with your tanks throught the hell land forests in flames , some rivers evarpowed we see some new lakes. In the place of biger cites are only nuke deserts. You fight with a lack of supply because your rears are too completly destroyed so no new units in campaigne. So for the end mision you fight with all ex-NATO forces ex-Warsaw Pact units because you become a warlord you need only food and fuel for your people and fight for that with evryone.

Polish and DDR force was a first line (except polish 4th army) and was a major composite of force to fight in North germany , Denmark and than in Norway.
