40 bonus to blood magic?

Just a qucik question again:

Does a site with 40 bonus to blood magic reduce the gems which are used when casting blood spells by 40% or what does it do ?

No it reduces the # of Slaves from Blood Magic. Which is basically the same thing as Gems.
