Question Three pre-purchase newbie questions

Hi everyone,

I'm considering a purchase of WinSPWW2 as the demo runs perfectly well under Parallels (emulated XP in OSX). I could, I suppose, aslo BootCamp into Windows but I prefer not rebooting. Anyway ... my three questions are as follows ...

1. I can't find a shipping price for the CD to Canada. Can someone tell me and also methods and estimated delivery time?

2. Is the full version (i.e., the CD one) WinSPWW2 not available for digital download after purchase?

3. Editor question ... how "small" can you make scenarios? Small in terms of size of map and forces involved? I really enjoy very tactical level scenarios in my war games with smaller numbers of units and I wondered what sort of capability the editor has in that regard.

That's it for now. Many thanks.

Good day, DaveyJJ

I think you'll find the CD well worth the price, just remember to bring it up todate after you load it.

Q1- The delivery price is as quoted it's the same for Canada. My CD's I have both came Canada Post and I had them in less than 7 days in both cases.

Q2- The CD version is not DLable, you will have to DL the Mods 3 I beleive, to bring it up todate. However, this doesn't effect the bonus features you get with the CD.

Q3- You can generate battles right down to a 10 x 10 map 500 sq meters, or create your own maps, in this rergard the extended editor on the CD is worth it's weight in gold.

Hope this helps.

Thanks PanzerBob. One last question ...

Q3. Does this mean a 10x10 map each hex = 500 metres, therefore a 5 kilometre square map? Or a 10x10 map each hex 50 metres therefore a 500 sq. metre (half kilometre) map?

I am really looking forward to the editor.

Thanks!

Found it on the Camo Workshop website ...

One unit playing piece represents one vehicle or gun, or an infantry squad (section of up to 19 men in winSPWW2 and 13 men in WinSPMBT) or a section of 1 to 4 support weapons. One game hexagon represents 50 yards/metres of terrain. One game move (player 1 turn plus player 2 turn) represents roughly 3 minutes of 'real time'.

This should probably be pointed out in the Features column of the Shrapnel page as well, I'd suggest.

No problem. I just got my shipping notice by email so we'll now see how long it takes to get up to Waterloo, Ontario from the US of A.

I was thrilled to see how well it ran under Parallels and that pretty much cinched the deal for me ... I only use Boot Camp on my Intel iMac to boot into XP when I need an IL2 9146 fix or want to play team Fortress 2.

While an OSX version would've been nice, support in Parallels is just about as good. So thanks!
