Default Delta Force

Hi

Is Delta represented in the US OOB? If so what unit and formation? I've looked but don't seem to be able to find them. I guess Delta is doing their job and staying hidden and secret :-)

Delta are a specialised anti-terrorist/hostage rescue unit, as such they operate in clandestine actions often way behind enemy lines. They are NOT a battlefield unit and would never be used as such. They are, therefore, not represented by the game.

The Special Forces units that have crept into some OoBs are only there for "colour" and, IMHO, would be the first thing removed when the OoB starts to get tight on space (Like the US is). The ONLY game use I can see for this kind of unit is as specialist forward observers - as they are intended in the UK OoB (SAS), for example.

Yep, the SOCOM units I added to the USMC OOB were because that OOB has the room to easily accommodate them and to allow scenario designers to do hostage rescue type stuff. They were, and are, never intended to be used as front-line units.

I do use them a long range recon units. Usually try and get into the back areas with fast vehicles and wreak havoc on air defenses, attack soft targetts, spotting for artillery, etc. I realise that I could use scout units but as one poster said, "they are there for colour"
