Victory point indicator?

I'm running on a random map and noticed that the victory point icon seems to be set, in one area, directly between two different provinces. I've scanned the province info bar and don't see an icon up there (as I did in the map editor) indicating which of the two provinces is worth the point. Aside from guessing off the graphs (which I can't do), any way for me to tell from the UI which one has the point?

The crowns seem to be a bit up and left from the province center.

Also, you cant tell on random maps how many VPs a province is worth. Very annoying.
