Hey, thank Mark for the work, I just imported his data.

Maybe I can find a way to incorporate it into my WinSP Wiki somehow. Surely these 2 can be set up to complement each other.

Also maybe add an upload section for user created scenario's with an embedded DL link in the listing.

The description field is there anyway to make it only viewable when you hit "view"?

because looking at scenario 001, it's a lot of text and messes up the formatting of the main database

I imagine the TYPE field to be useful to help identify unique scenarios like:

INFANTRY - an infantry only battle, basically; with perhaps 1 or 2 tanks trundling around

TANK - Tank only battle, with a few infantry squads around

PARA - Basically, a scenario which starts with an airborne insertion

AMPHIB - Basically, scenario which starts with a amphibious invasion.

RIVER - Basically, dealing with a river crossing

COMBINED - Combined Arms scenarios; a nice mix of every type of unit.

COMMANDO - Scenarios designed to recreate commando raids, like St. Nazaire.

Working on it. Will get it off of the front page. "VIEW" will open a single screen for the scenario so we can actually have more listed there since there is more room.

We could implement a dropdown menu OR just allow manually entered data.

What about;

1) # of Turns,
2) Map Size
3) Force Size (i.e. Small, Med, Large, etc OR go by echelon, I.E. Company, Battalion, etc)?

The good thing is users can search by keyword and/or sort to find the criteria that interest them.

Guess I better start reading the manual for this program, see what it can do.

Go by Echelon; even a very large map can be playable on company level.

As for map size and # of turns; I think it would be better for us to program a simplistic utility that reads the scenario files and extracts that data from the files to make our lives easier.

This is quite fun, I can rapidly find all the scenarios with ANZAC troops by pounding in ANZAC in the search field and hitting enter, same with all other things; it even searches the scenario descriptions too, so when every description is in, we'll have a high fidelity of searching.

BTW, I've started to do the MBT scenario list too; but I'm struck with a hard problem; it's quite easy to quantify stuff that did happen, like Vietnam 1970, Falklands 1982, but what about the stuff that never happened?

WWIII scenarios; how should they get represented?

WW3 - Norway 1985
or
World War III 1985

As long as we get the fields we need set up we can always come up with naming conventions/criteria later. It would require us to go back and edit to keep things consistent but would lessen the upfront workload.

At some point I can also implement security levels for access an editing rights to protect what is there from the random visitor just mucking around.
