I highly like the map.

Said that, I just don't get why you've gone for those small hexes. Having the map with somewhat less provinces but of hand-shaped, terrain-appropriate forms would probably have been a bit better estetically, got some interesting choke points around those nice mountain ranges, and solved the problem of those big sea provinces from which you can attack an enormous share of coastlines.

Making one hand-shaped province out of 3 current hexes circa, and "breaking" some of the big water provinces adiacent to the coasts into some smaller ones, you would have a medium-sized map with around 11/12 provinces/nation for 12 land and 3 water nations

Only a suggestion of course. The map is a very good work anyway.

Aristander, I'd keep this map too though, since soem might like it this way

After reading the last comments I understand the getting to shore bit and I think you should accomodate that comment a bit too, the idea of limited points to get on shore is a good one but you might have over done it a bit. Usually I don't think that waternation have a very hard time getting on land so IMHO I'd stick with you idea at least partially and not give all shores a shore-> sea connection.

I'd not worry to much about the chokepoint comment myself if I where you since some maps have them and some maps don't.. and to me it doesn't matter that much (obviously the one who posted the comment does matter)

Thanks everyone,

I do appreciate the comments it will help when I do the next map.
The idea behind the hex's was to enable more strategic choices and
allow more room for maneuvering. I think that the hex's are somewhat limiting and I will not use them in my next map.

The most comments I received on my first map was regarding the Sea areas (that they had access to a large number of land territories)so I may have over compensated.

Perhaps making the territories larger will help with the resolution issue.

I really like this map. I would have preferred it w/o the hex though.
