Default The 572th hardest choice in my life

upon receiving the Beloved Child (aka doms II), what will you do :

1 - browse frantically all the 17 races to have a look at all new units and themes

2- Refrain yourself, pick a race, and play against the computer, waiting impatiently that he surprises you with new creatures and tactics?

I will first play Mictlan using Moloch Pretender called Dark Prince... Then i will play Vanheim with Midgård theme and a Wyrm Pretender called either "Midgård Serpent" or "Iormungard"...

No, actualy i'll test all the old nations in a single game, all the new nations in a single game, all nations game, Caelum vs AI and then i will start to play. I will have to put some matter for our webpage, y'know?

I will also play Helheim Vanheim with Lord of Dead called "Emperor of The Hanged Ones".

Just wondering, but noone seems to mention Jotunheim, race of giants. Were they not in Dom I?

Then maybe you will like to know they have 2 new themes: one with human troops and one with even bigger giants. These "even bigger giants" make normal giants look like dwarves - "Oops, I stepped on Jarl, sorry."
One of leaders of these "even bigger giants" (called Niefel Giants btw.) is Niefel jarl and costs 500 gold! He is probably the most powerful unit buyable since his a powerful priest, powerful mage and has about 150 hp not counting his equipment and combat skill. Niefel troops have about 2 times more HP then "normal" giants and are SACRED.

Nasty race, trust me.

Damn, I'm impressed. This open a whole new window of playing style, where a player could perhaps rely mostly on leaders as his main strike force, with whinny troops (anything affordable really, like foul spawns) just so that the giants dont get mobbed by the enemy.

In practice, you can play with only super combattants. A vine shield would discourage mobbing for example. The possibilities are again 'exponentiated' with this original theme.

congrats to the dev team. Here again they surprise us nicely.

More specifically Daynarr, it reminds me of the description of the Illwinter spell, the one where it is said that the old big big giants, Ritumsar (I think, I'm not well versed in northern mythos) return, bringing with them frost and blizzards.

Can it be that there is something more about this in Doms II ? But I'm perhaps dreaming awake
