Just got a marginal (3446 to 895) after 13 turns. Since I had all but 2 80-point VH's after 11 turns, subtracting 160 for those and maybe 100 for additional kills made afterwards gives about 3150 while adding 160 to the Egyptians gives about 1050. It still would have been marginal with the original time limit. So Mr. Blackard had this one right after all.
For anyone interested I've posted saves. You can see that ALL tank losses occurred on the approach, during the first 2-4 turns. Careless routing was the culprit, letting the AI decide which route to take, which sometimes meant exposing the Mag'ach's to long-range fire. But that was all; had I been more meticulous I could've saved about 650 points!
As usual having enough infantry (especially with APC's) and arty was the key. Without that--as in #63, which reflects the Izzies' premature assault--you'll almost certainly get creamed. Didn't somebody say something about combined arms for Main Battle Tank
