Default Rommel SW of Arras 10/21/1940 Scenario

Rommel personally deploys rear echelon units including, 88's and artillery using direct fire to stop British Matildas, in his rear outside Arras.

It's a nice beginner scenario and we need more of those.

Question Re: Rommel SW of Arras 10/21/1940 Scenario

Hadn't played in a couple years, so tried this scen out after patching the game. I won handily as the Germans, so maybe it favours that side as I'm mighty rusty.

The game brought up a rules question. There were ammo vehicles as late scen reinforcements. Were they to be used to resupply ammo for the 88s? If so, what's the procedure? The HTML manual has no search feature that I could find.

Park them in the hex beside the 88's, wait 2 turns and you're loaded , remember that both the vehicle and the reloading unit must be standing still the turn before so it can load

As icamp pointed out,

Reloading is fundamentaly easy to do but tricky to accomplish,

you are very vunerable during the process,

Make sure there is no enemy units that can fire on either unit whilst reloading, or else you've sent a very large bomb with a splash-over to all adjecent frendlies

For real, i really avoid ammo carriers around the battleare unless extremely nescessary, i don't like having them near my arty park, as the guns are easy to spot due to smoke and when something goes bang i'd rathe be far away from it

Most of the time i've found ammo is adequate for most units in any battle, but sometimes may have a few cheap ammo truck/wagons around for low-loadout units just in case.

But far enough away so not to cause an ugly scene.

I must be doing something wrong, arty is often a problem certainly in WW2 due to battles normally taking longer. Also WW2 being more infantry based find armoured cars often run out of ammo for MGs despite the loadout so can infantry MGs. Several tanks SPGs have problems to late war Russian or even T-28s if you can keep them alive come to mind, T-28 its more because they keep missing
MBT its SAMs, ATGMs GLs & hellos that are the main problems.
Sometimes keeping everything firing becomes a little sub game all on its own deciding priority & if defending moving units to cover the hole as you pull out a unit for resupply
