Default Offboard contact?

I have noticed it is now possible to lose contact with offboard support & had a couple of thoughts
Firstly does the contact capability (loss) vary by nation.
Could be wrong but guessing USA radios were better than say early Russian ones, probably why most units did not have them.

As a thought how about a dedicated observation post with a land line. Add a FOO class bunker with minimal? armament but good radio code.

Of course I have no idea how you got this to work in the first place but assume based on radio code.

Also the 5 key has proved invaluable as I have just done a river crossing, a shambles would be a good description of my forces after.

Great work & many thanks.

Lightbulb Re: Offboard contact?

Good day, Commander.

Oh yes varies very much by Nation, in our present battle, I was lucky to have Comms with my Battery and Airstrikes half the time. Which may explain some of the seeming lack of control and odd timings of my arty and airstrikes!!

I remember directing a naval gun to destroy an immobile tiger that was destroying my barges, one of my LCGs shot him with a 17lb gun and destroyed it, my M3 HTs were around the area 2 turns later, the turn before the 16INCH shells would land, i lost contact OUCH! 2 shermans destroyed some 2 immobile and 3 damaged ones, 4 HTs and a platoon of mech infantry killed

Good day to you Sir

Wow that explains a lot I must admit I thought your planes might have had there day till that last run. We are playing very late in the game to & you must have quite a few problems. Think I was lucky if I lost contact it was in the right place. I have discovered it does happen often enough to check contact before you move stuff otherwise you can get caught like iCAMP says though that was nasty
