Problem is, I like to be on the offense, and with most of their units so slow, it seems that they are better when on the defense (or counterattack, when they can send all those former attackers back).

My personal favs are human, gnome, dwarves, and sometimes afflicted. But I seem to be mainly lucky with afflicted.
