Default Spell Dark Skies

Does the spell dark skies actually deserve looking at?

As I read the description, it says its more of a Morale issue for opposing armies than what I thought it was going to be .

I thought that it would be more like The spell that afflicts the world with Darkness but only affects your nation.

So, as it is a Global, I wonder if anyone has used it and is it worth the time and gems?

Thanks for any info

I've used it, not a bad spell when you face multiple enemies and have a strong dominion.

The enemy get -1moral for every dominion candle, so 10 dominion is -10 morale for the enemy.

No, I think you're counting the -1 morale from hostile dominion, so with dom 10 it would be the -10 from dark skies and -1 from hostile dominion which makes it -11 total.

Yes, that's what I meant.
Not a bad spell overall if you're planning to defend against large non-mindless armies in your dominion. Personally I wouldn't attack an opponent with Dark Skies with anything other than SC's/distant attacks.

Would also work well with Awe, Fear and long weapons.

Caelum has national summons with Awe. It's not like Caelum gets access to Air magic or something...

Dark skies sets up several great combinations, I have often aluded to, but no one seems to notice.

Dark Skies + Melancholia, being one of my favorite.

But there are several that benefit.
