Default Why just an ANZAC OOB?

It is a bit of a puzzle about the OOB. How come the concept of one ANZAC OOB is so reinforced in this game, yet for MBT poor old New Zealand is dumped for just an Australian OOB. They do have an active army.

This is not an anti KIWI issue the simple facts are that both countries fielded in fundamentally different areas and as pointed out in the Unit notes different vehicles.

There was no ANZAC HQ running about in North Africa or Syria. The various Divisions came under either an Australian or New Zealand HQ; that is Australian Divisions under Australian HQ and the same with New Zealand.

So why not split these. It would also save some odd mistakes like giving Australians Shermans or Valentines.

There has only ever been an ANZAC OOB since SP1 came out, and nobody has split them.

Cheers

Andy, true is been there since SPI, but fundamentally why?

True we as two distinct nations sometimes join under one HQ but we do not live in the same tent for every war, WWII is an example.

Don, I was not complaining, just asking why this adherence was still being carried on.

I do not see ANZAC in MBT yet we were in the same places, Korea and Vietnam for starters, though New Zealand is not listed in MBT either.
You made the split for MBT, so was there a reason to keep the status quo?

Because, as I said, it wasn't an issue for anyone before now. If it had been someone would surely have brought it up in 1998 when we first released sp2ww2 with "ANZAC" and then in 1999 when we released the first version of spww2 also with an "ANZAC" OOB. Here we are in the later half of 2006......8+ years later...... and we are discussing design decision made quite a long time ago. In MBT, New Zealand was, as I recall, removed because no one was interested in building an OOB specifically for it. The same reasons apply to the question as to why the two nations are joined in one OOB in SPWW2. Yes, I suppose it should have been split but it wasn't.....again.....because the joining wasn't an issue anyone really raised as being a problem that needed to be resolved. Even for the release of WinSPww2 when RSI was split from Italy and the Slovaks were split from the Czechoslovakian OOB the issue of splitting Australia and NZ from "ANZAC" was never raised because it was not thought to be a problem.
