Default Blessing and magic weapon question

Do the D9 and F9 blessings "overwrite" in some fashion the properties of magical weapons? Specifically I've noticed some odd behavior with the brand type weapons where most of the time (in the course of a single battle) they don't seem to work under under a D9 bless, but sometimes they do.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

This is in fact the case.

That is... colossally annoying, but thanks for the quick response.

Yeah, that is pretty crappy. And that is pretty much the reason I dont ever take those paths to 9 on a pretender. Really though, neither of those bless effects are THAT great anyway... they're useful, but mostly unnecessary. I stick to just taking them to 8, in light of that... issue. If you're in an MP game right now using that though, I admit knowing doesn't help much. That should be stickied somewhere, if it's not, because that isn't immediately obvious and is a serious problem for item compatibility.

Weird. Could it be that they "work" when the D9 effect fails to penetrate the enemies MR?

I have W9D9 bless as Helheim in Troubling Times game. I havent pulled up any logs to verify it, but it seems to me that when the commander misses, the area affect fires. A hit means no area affect.
