HMmmm!

Yes, you'll find it in the SP and SPAA Thread Post #241. As usual all credit goes to Don as that's something he really likes doing.

Thank You.

Pat

Around when can we possibly see the next update? Looks like the Ukraine oob will get lots of love with all the new equipment they are receiving thru NATO. Hopefully they will receive NATO mbts before the upcoming update so they can be implemented into the Ukraine oob as well...Keeping my fingers crossed😁!

Fallout Re: The FASTBOAT Patch page.

Usually about April sometimes maybe a couple of weeks earlier.

But Andy and Don are dealing with a lot right now so I'm personally thinking latter part of April.

I intend to cut and paste this (The submission) into the MBT Thread as near as possible after Don and I have "hashed" out any issues he has with it.

For NOW, I would respectfully request before you put something in this Thread to PLEASE read Post #1 in here.

I have many reasons why I'd like to keep this Thread as "uncluttered" as possible.

THANK YOU!!!

Regards,
Pat

Fallout Re: The FASTBOAT Patch page.

Don,
THIS IS AS YOU HAVE TIME TO ANSWER AT YOUR CONVIENCE-ONLY.

Sweden is going to send 10 UNITS of the STRV 122, of which I've spent a couple of hours+ looking at and hoping to find a simple solution for an export version, of which I think will work without modification and want your opinion if you feel the same about it as I do.

Numbers vary between 180 - 210 total STRV 122 models with least 45 in service around end of 2021 early 2022. That number probably has gone up since the war started to include the first live fire tests for the STRV 122 since ~2002 around end of ~2021.

From the game side to establish a baseline plus many newer refs since I submitted a modified STRV 122 a few years back. Those UNITS are the STRV 122A UNIT 031/UNIT 356/UNIT 358 and STRV 122B UNIT 353.

My thinking is having me lean towards STRV 122 UNIT 356 for the EXPORT version.

Issues I'll be looking into based on these newer refs. include...
Increasing TI/GSR for UNITS 353 & 358.

Review HF armor for the whole series initial block. I have uncovered the tank of origin for this. However, I believe I asked to have it deleted from its OOB also a few years back because it wasn't exported fully however Sweden and Greece did take from this tank it's HF and TF armor package.

SWEDEN/CHANGE/STRV 122A/UNIT 031/STEEL/TOP 12 vice 8. // There is absolutely NO DIFFERENCE between these tanks in TOP armor. Remember they were all SPEC built.

Finally, again as was the case years back the newer refs I'll submit at a later date with this added package are saying the same thing now as then, this version of the LEOPARD 2A5 is probably the BEST protected TOP attack tank in NATO. It deserves another look since I submitted that as part of the modification then.

However, I believe what we have is probably right.

Also, I came across the fact that by JAN 2023 Sweden received the final shipments of NEW tank ammo from ELBIT in Israel. This will affect UNITS 353 & 358 ONLY. From the ref...
"Elbit will supply the Swedish Armed Forces with M339 120mm tank shells for the army’s Leopard battle tanks. The contract will be carried out over 10 months."

"The M339 rounds are compliant with NATO and US military specifications, Elbit said. In 2020, Elbit sold the munition to the Finnish military."

https://elbitsystems.com/landing/wp-...nks_15_Web.pdf
(Page 5 with a long list of users.)
https://www.armyrecognition.com/defe...e_systems.html

IF YOU HAVE NO ISSUES WITH THE PROPOSED EXPORT "VERSION" IT'LL JUST SAVE SOME TIME.

BECAUSE THERE IS NO TIMELINE SET FOR DELIVERY, I WILL PUT THIS ON THE BACK BURNER.

CHALLENGER 2 export will be done tomorrow, never mind, later today and hope to have UAE/JORDAN LeClerc's done as well.

Travel day yesterday and busy after getting home. No place like home and our bed.!!!! And the "joy" of getting our taxes done later today.

Good Night.

Regards,
Pat

I will look into this but really Pat...... DO NOT over-obsess about the exact model because all you are going on is sketchy info at best. Just pick one. You have NO IDEA the exact configuration they are going to send and we may not know for years..... if ever exactly what was sent and the difference in game combat ability between those Swedish models is

||

this much difference to the outcome of a game battle

= SFA if you get my drift

Fallout Re: The FASTBOAT Patch page.

As always "In house Rules Apply Here"

Page 7 Patch Post Part 2 2022/2023 Campaign and the LAST!!

First, I’ll be starting were I left off in PART 1 with a “DELETE” I missed this in the Russian OOB. Next, I’ll be entering hopefully a handful of new tanks mostly to cover export versions of what the Ukraine and others have ordered. Having also common export versions in the long run will save us a lot of time. But to get there I’ll need to make some minor but reasonable modifications to make this work on existing tanks though I believe the South Korean “CHANGE” (s) should be the worst of not that requires this.

Postscript it wasn’t.

One last thing, I’ve seen “shades” of this in the forums over the years (Rarely) that a small tank can’t be as protected as a larger one. This is a false assumption depending on the tank. If the STEEL is close in value to the larger tank i.e. K2 with the Protection Package of an ABRAMS SEP than it follows the Protection Levels will about be equal with the ONLY difference being the K2 will require less material.

RUSSIA/DELETE/T-90A/UNIT 861/PER REFS T-90A ONLY EQUIPPED WITH SHORTORA-1 VIRSS SYSTEM.// “T-90A also has a laser warning system and an aerosol-generating system that uses 3D17 grenades of 902A Tucha (Cloud) designation.” Quote taken from refs provided in Part 1 BOTTOM of Page 4.

The” K” series tanks
are at times referred to as the “Baby ABRAMS” and I’ll be using the “peerage system” as previously used for the captured Russian tanks to the Ukraine. Also, ALL K series tanks were compared against each other to further “tighten up” the numbers, with of course refs. Adjustments had to be made to better reflect reality but MOSTLY IMPORTANTLY to fit in the KIA2 and K2 EXPORT. Currently I’m looking at 9 tanks from the USA & S. Korean OOB’s. K1-88 K1A1 compares to M1A1 AND K1A2/K2 compares to M1A2/M1A2 SEP+ BY DATE OF INTRODUCTION.

A note concerning the K1A2 I’ve included the discussed improvements to that tank that were brought up in the refs. The issues to follow have delayed the K2 and K2 PIP production first were problems with the local built transmissions and COVID.

SOUTH KOREA/CHANGE/K1A1/UNIT 024/END JUN 2024 vice DEC 2025/CREW 4/HEAT HF 70 HS 40. //ALL
the K1A1 tanks are being converted to the K1A2 standard which will end its production run at the end of 2023 per JANES. I’ve extended the date to have a “safety net” in place.

SOUTH KOREA/CHANGE/K2/UNIT 025/EW 4/TI/GSR 60/ADD/WEAPON KSTAM/STABILIZER 7/HEAT HF 90. //
The K2 will be the main frontline MBT for South Korea for some time to come. The program was delayed due to issues with the locally built transmission compatibility with the engine (Similar to what happened with the ALTAY) plus the engine issues they’re having on top of it. This occurred at least twice in 2014 and 2020. This issue had a direct effect on START for K2 PIP.

The modernization of the K1A1 was driven by the fact they needed an improved tank for better interoperability with the K2. Development was started in 2013 to early 2014 for preproduction with the ROK receiving the first tanks in late 2014. The production run was to last until 2026. A lot has happened since even some of my first refs were still holding to the 2026 date. With the escalation of events that have occurred since 2014 with North Korea, China and more recently within the last ~2 years leading up to and almost a year (Feb. 24th) into the war in Ukraine. Production was greatly increased to the point it’ll be finished in DEC 2023. As noted for the K1A1 I’ve built in a “safety net” just in case. And again, I’ve just gone ahead and built in those “newer” modifications as one of my refs will clearly show the APS installed.

Probably should’ve added the export versions of the M1A2C to the USA OOB last year but, things are “tight” there, here we have room to put this tank it in the South Korean OOB to maybe make it easier to find so it can be “exported” to whatever country needs it. I believe I’ve managed to strike a good balance between the new KIA2 and the revised K2. This is why I used the USA ABRAMS as a check between the K1 and K2 hulls and what’s in works, which only left me to keep that distinction in my head as I built the K2 export. As has been reported already and posted the exporting countries keep their secrets on current and former units for at least a couple of equipment generations or more of developmental history.

SOUTH KOREA/CHANGE/K2 PIP/UNIT 033/START/JAN 2025 vice APR 2019.//As discussed above with delays to the K2 Program from refs also as above.

This is to support the export versions for 2A7/2A7V. As the LEOPARD 2A7V UNIT 795 just recently came into German service this tank just served the purpose of providing me the “high” numbers which for an Export version would not be practical to use. To establish the “lower” base it was more practical to use the LEOPARD 2A6M UNIT 035 than the current fielded LEOPARD 2A6M, one of the reasons for this was to give me a “generational” gap I needed for a better calculation for the Export model.

To explain what on the “face of it” what seems like a huge jump in from HEAT TF 55, I believe it’s from a legacy admin error. I would draw your attention to the HEAT TF of the following German units. Those are LEOPARD 1A3 UNIT 016 and also LEOPARD 1A4 UNITS 017 – 023 all HEAT TF 65, now that increase should be reasonable to HEAT 70, also all the Danish tanks from LEOPARD 1A3-DK-LEOPARD 1A5-DK UNITS 021-024 also have HEAT TF 65. The LEOPARD 1A5 was the first to receive the LEXON Composite add on armor.

DENMARK/CHANGE/LEOPARD 1A5-DK/UNITS 023-024/STEEL HF 25 TF 35 TS 14 TR 10 TOP 5/----/HEAT 30 15 6 75 22 14 TOP 6. // The 1A5-DK were one the first to see combat in a rare military engagement of this tank to date, successfully engaging Serbian tanks in Kosovo during Operation Bøllebank and Operation Amanda, in 1994. In the battle against a larger force of tanks, the Danish tanks were credited with 3 tank kills and killing about 120 combat troops during the battle with no damaged or destroyed tanks on their side. Denmark put their resources mostly to increase the HEAT values based on a “new” combat reality that the RPG and similar weapons posed. I believe these tanks were deployed at least three times in their career. This is what separates it from the German 1A5.

Export quick list for the UKRAINE and a couple of others.

From this submission from Part 2 are:
South Korean-K2 EXPORT

German LEOPARD-2A7 EXPORT

Sweden per REVISED/CHANGE STRV-122A UNIT 031 (So far 10 to be exported,)

United Kingdom CHALLENGER 2 EXPORT (So far 28 to be exported.)

Germany per REVISED/CHANGE LEOPARD 1A5 UNIT 026 (At least 88 maybe more to be exported.)

Denmark per REVISED/CHANGE LEOPARD 1A5-DK UNIT 024 (At least a 100 or more to be exported.)

We have discussed the following as “one size fits” for the following tanks because we have multiple countries that have committed to sending tanks like the LEOPARD 2A4 or LEOPARD 2A6 to the Ukraine. For us it’s MUCH EASIER to manage. For the PLAYER there shouldn’t be any buy restrictions with possible exception of the STRV-122A as noted above due to the low number being exported. That will not be my call or recommendation.

There has been much made about the Western tanks being the “tip of the sword” in future offensive moves in the Ukrainian War. I’m looking at Protection and does have HE ammo as they’ll need that if trying to make to breech the enemy lines. After the country you’ll see (D#) which indicates how many are committed/delivered to this point information is from JANES.

LEOPARD 2A4-POLAND (D14) UNIT O23 2A4P/NORWAY (D8) UNIT 015 2A4NO/
CANADA (D8+) UNIT O35 2A4MCAN. //Just found out Canada did not send that. It was their “standard" 2A4 that was sent.

LEOPARD 2A5 Category:
The as above SWEDEN REVISED (D10) UNIT 031 STRV-122A. //There is no better all-around version of that tank out there-period. Besides no one else is sending the 2A5 anyway.

LEOPARD 2A6-GERMANY (D14) UNIT 036/PORTUGAL (D14) LEOPARD 2A6NL (?)/SPAIN (6+) UNIT 032 LEOPARDO 2E. //All I can say the GENERIC has been already chosen.

I ONLY know that UNIT 031 STRV-122A is in. Well again no one else is sending them (It’s still the best one anyway regardless.).

To build or modify a tank requires good references, “Guard Rails” by this I mean you have to take account of what came before (Generationally), what there is in the present, sometimes its peer in another OOB, and sometimes what’s to come in the near future (i.e., South Korea K2 PIP.).

All the above can easily be interconnected and usually are. And then there’s time and that can be challenge at times. From Page 7 to the below Page 13 required 6 Pages of hand written notes and calculations.

Don and I did this in a different manner over the last 10 days or so via a Secret Communications System (SCS) and the result is this submission is ready to go.

We hope you’ll use some of this in your “private wars” and enjoy them.

Don,
That is correct.

The only "outliner" we had was when I by accident found that the French had applied the AZUR package to the LeClerc S2 (Series 2) in 2006.

Occurred while working the UAE LeClerc AZUR tank.

You already sent me that new unit last weekend for France.

Just posted this as normal with some "word teching" to reflect what was passed during our messages.

My "read" from our last was, everything is in as submitted.

EDIT: Yes, all is good, maybe because you're seeing it all at once with ALL the refs as well.

My first message had the first 11 items while the rest were sent separately in another message.

And I tried to minimize the numbers of refs. sent so as not to "clutter up" the messages beyond what was absolutely necessary to get the job done.

As you can see I had more if needed during our work.

Don sometimes worries that I'll do something unpredictable around this time before the release.

With good reason a couple of times in the past, I might've asked Don, what do think getting this in!?!

Done, Done & Done

I will like as always bounce this against the release.

This is my electronic file that backs up my paper file.

You can take the sailor off the Submarine but, sometimes you can't take the Submarine out of the sailor.

Redundancy means life. In this case and at work it means CYA!

Pat

Fallout Re: The FASTBOAT Patch page.

I was cleaning out some more files when I came across the following, I meant to get corrected on two tanks and added onto the Export version of those tanks as submitted.

GERMANY/CHANGE/LEOPARD 2A7 UNIT 267/LEOPARD 2A7V UNIT 795/LEOPARD 2A7/2A7V EXPORT AS SUBMITTED/DELETE/7.62mm MG3 AAMG/ADD/FLW-200 sMG.50 (M2 QCB)/w/100 Rds./LFR 50m-10Km/DAY/NIGHT/2-AXIS STABILIZER w/FIRE ON THE MOVE/SCAN MODE/SNIPER DETECTION/MPL-76mm protection system increases the vehicle protection function through the deployment of various smoke agents n x 360°/AS CURRENTLY EQUIPPED. // Highly accurate system to include 360-degree smoke system. From ref.
"Modular optronic sensor systems ensure optimal battlefield surveillance, target acquisition and engagement by day, night and under poor visibility. In addition to the high-resolution CCD colour camera with zoom, a powerful thermal imager (cooled or uncooled), a combined night vision function and a laser range finder are part of the weapon stations’ modular surveillance, operating, and display concept."

(Picture clearly shows FLW 200 w/76mm Grenade Launcher mounted.)

What I'm tracking for these tanks are APS likely to appear on the LEOPARD 2A7VA1 and LEOPARD 2A8 and the possible addition of the FLW 200 PLUS w/20mm AC also being mentioned.
