Default Playing generated campaing

Do you update your experienced core forces or do you rather buy brand new units when newer models/gear comes available?

For a long time I started a campaing and have played so far about three missions, with good succes. Last meeting engagement went damn good and after fixing all units I still had over 1000 points left to upgrade or expand core units. Newer T-80s had come available and I have T-60Bs with good experiences so far. For a long time I tought updating but I wanted to expand my core force so I bought four T-80s.

After a bit of tinkering I tought that first T-80 model have so small differences between T-60B. So I tought it would be smarter to buy new set and then upgrade T-60s when better MBTS come available.

All depends on how big you want your battles. If you have a company size force, and want to keep 'em small, obviously upgrade. If you feel your due for a promotion to a larger command, expand.

Or, if your like me, you usually have a 201 unit core from the get go so expansion is an unknown concept.

I do both....update old equipment with newer, That way I get experienced crews. I also expand the core force as I go. I may start a campaign with the a battalion and end up with a regiment.

I started '73 with SU and it's now 80s. I still have their original gear But I don't know is it worth yet to update, only real new thing is RPG-7v and newer guns. I believe just new rifle doesn't affect a thing, right?

Infantry updating is a piss thing. You have to view from other menu what gears they have and then go to update menu and click the right section what you were looking at.

It would ncie to have some kind of easier update menu so you could update entire platoon with option you want, instead of clicking in tens of different menus and unit screens.

Other question, does AI get more points for upcoming battles if I increase my core size?

The AI does get more points, when you enlarge your force.

Yeah I've noticed this. Darn CA forces have endless infantry sections.
