Default WinSPMBT and Windows Vista

Dear All,

I just would like to know about Winspmbt (also Winspww2) and Windows Vista. I have been experiencing problems that means very slow graphics and animations compared to WinXp.
In fact, it is unplayable under Vista.
My machine is fast enough, so this should be no problem.

Anyone who has similar problems and is there probably a solution ?

Thanks

you could always read the existing forum thread on the subject Vista

Or you could read the game manual - section on "tuning your machine" and try tweaking for the new operating system. Also - check the game options tab 2 (Misc) section of the GG as well (Game installation section). Plus - read the vista documentation (if any such exists).

Vista is not one of the supported operating systems for the game. I might investigate it about 6 months post the publishing of the first service pack (SP1) - when the early adopters have done some of Microsoft's beta testing for them !.

Cheers
Andy

Hi,

I already posted in the older thread a while ago when I still ran Vista-RC1 on my notebook. However since then I switched to the full version of Vista and haven´t regretted it. I run Vista Ultimate both on my desktop and my notebook. Both games (WinSPWW2 and MBT) run excellently smooth and flawless on both my machines in windowed mode (1600x1200 and 1280x800). I run the CD versions of the games obviously.

Hope this helps

cheers

Helge

Dear,

thank you all for your quick reply.

I've tested it again and can now conform that it works in windowed mode smoothly (at 800x600, download version).
I prefer fullscreen mode, because it is much too small in windowed mode.
Fullscreen is still a problem-it runs very sluggish.
Maybe it is also a problem of the Nvdia drivers.

My Spec:
Vista Ultimate 32bit
AMD FX60
4 Gig DDR400
Nvidia 7600GS
Resolution 1280x1024
