Default paratroopers in spww2

Hello, I have the 2.5 free version of spww2 (ill get around to buyin it along with spmbt dont worry) and here is my problem:

I tried playing the paratroopers in the pacific campaign today and so I bought the company of troopers and transport aircraft as suggested.

I loaded all of my troopers onto the c47s and deployed them. Then I hit quit deploy to start my turn.

ALL of my units disappeared off the map!

It registered them, just told me they weren't located on the map anymore! So I couldnt not move anything. It allowed me to end turn etc.

So I tried it again, same issue. Then I said weird I'll just do a long campaign with a company of paras and so loaded it up and deployed them in their aircraft. SAME THING! No units on map! Now I have not tried to deploy them on the ground yet because I felt flustered enough to come right to your forums to post the problem. Or maybe there is something I'm not understanding?

I don't understand it.

Please fix or do somfink!!!

Did you plot where they surposed land? I suspect not, the C47 fly over and chutes come out as the Airborne land. Go into where you plot artillery there's a button that allows you to cycle though arty, spotters, air strikes and airborne ops. Suggest you read up on their deployment, look at it like specialist training that Abn Troops got.

It should be much more pleasing than your aircraft flying off into the ether. LOL

Hi
I seriously suggest that you read the Game Guide.
especially the areas concerning deploying paratroops and dealing with arty plotting in general.

Aircraft are not moved in the game turns by the player, they are plotted and fly in during the end turn phase.
Only helos are moved on map like normal units.

You'll sort it out quick enough.
Good luck.
Cheers

Game Options -> Help Tab -> "Read the Game Manual" button.

Once the Game Guide is launched, press the "Artillery Bombardment" link. Scroll down to the description of the "switch to" button used to select the appropriate artillery type sub-page and its sub-paragraph on the "Airborne Page". Then scroll further down to the "Air Transports and Gliders" paragraph. See the tutorial section of the GG if you are unsure about how to plot artillery.

Basically - load them in the deployment turn (as the planes will be removed from the map on game start as described in the help - planes are off-map assets). Planes you don't load in the deployment phase will be unloaded. Then plot the mission as part of your pre-game bombardment (using the Bombardment Delay Adjustment (+) button to delay them if a later turn drop than turn 1 is required). Unplotted air transport missions will have an extremely long delay if called in on an impromptu basis. Use the switch to button to choose the appropriate artillery mission sub-page.

No "fixing" required.

Cheers
Andy
