Default Old Enemies - France vs Germany, 9/2011

I've just posted my new scenario - "Old Enemies".

If you would like to see modern battle, where both sides are at equal technology level, or if you want to see if Leo 2 is better than Leclerc, here's your chance.

Scenario can be downloaded from here

And here's the briefing:

Background

The year is 2011 and the world economy is in deep recession, far worse than the crisis of 1920's. The European Union has collapsed under severe economic pressure. Nationalism is on the rise once again. Chaos and anarchy spread rapidly as unemployment skyrockets. In Paris, French generals take power in a coup d'etat, crushing the government in a fierce and bloody fight. The population, tired of crime and desperate for jobs, accepts draconian laws enforced by General Beauvais and his Junta. Unfortunately, it quickly becomes clear than the cure was worse than the disease - high taxes, unemployment, oppression of political opposition, the terror of secret police, aggressive nationalist ideology...

20 September 2011
A French mechanized division crosses the French-German border in the Sarland area. Encountering only weak resistance, they quickly advance over the border.

Near the village of Wurstberg, the Bundeswehr decides to make its first stand. The French Mechanized spearhead advancing along the line of the French-German highway were moving too fast! They cut deep into German territory leaving their flanks vulnerable.

Orders
Your orders are to delay forces advancing at Wurstberg, for long enough to allow an mechanized infantry battalion from 4th Mechanized Infantry Division to attack them from the south. Air support is available.

Delaying forces consist of Jaeger Company, supported by armor platoon. and SP-ATGM battery.

Enemy forces probably consist of a reinforced Mechanized Infantry Battalion. Expected composition is two tank companies, and two mechanized infantry companies, one dragoon company plus standard battalion support heavy on the artillery. While the French were unable to gain total air superiority it is probable that they will be able to send multiple strike packages to support the assault.

I would like to thank scJazz for translating the scenario briefing from my gibberish to real english.

Wow, that's one original setting!

You seem to be of a frankly optimistic nature, eh? I guess you have to when creating scenarios for fictional wars!

Hey, wait, for once the French got the first move! Are they playing Falklands, kind of, in your idea?

Yup. There's nothing like a small victorious war to distract population from internal problems... at least some moronic politicians think so.
