Default Chest wound affiction

Just made chest wound to enemy's PoD.
It says Enc +5, Str -1
But it increased only his spell casting encumbrance, basic and melee are still 0, he has no items. This logic seems strange to me.

And magic encumbrance is not important for
Diseased
Lost one eye
Weakened
Chhest wounded
never healing wound-ed
feeble minded
Lost and arm -ed PoD

He can't cast anyway.. I can't understand how he flies
And one more question - is there a limit of afflictions after which unit dies?

-encumbrance 0 is a special encumbrance, such that the sum of enc 0 and enc n equals 0 for any n. The only exception is spellcasting, which has encumbrance added normally for gear. The PoD is undead, and thus doesn't tire from mere physical exertion. What does he care that he has a chest wound?

-afflictions will not directly kill a unit based on number of afflictions (although disease can eventually kill living units).

-he flies by magic. It really doesn't matter how he flies, he just does.

-feebleminded strips his magic paths from him, which would be why he can't cast at present.

Undead and pretty much any lifeless creature are usually enc 0, that means they do not gain encumberance from fighting, no matter what armor they have on or from chest wound affliction.

I don't think there is any limit to how many afflictions an unit can have. As long as it doesn't fall apart due hp amount, it's still around.

Edit: ninjaed by Squirrelloid.
