Default question on Supply trks/depots

I'm playing the Japs 1931 against chinese when i picked a supply trk it came in with nothing loaded on it. when I put out of ammo units with it, none ever recovered any ammo, so i tried ammo dump, same thing, came in without any ammo and no units would replace their ammo. Is there something i'm missing in order to get them to have supply when they come on the board in order to resupply my units ammo, tks in advance ??????

Place your units right next to ammo supply unit. They will get re-supplied each turn.

.......... STARTING on the turn AFTER you move those units there.

From the Game guide under "WinSPWW2 Unit Classes "

Quote:
UnitClass 56=Ammo Carrier

Replenishes ammunition expended. Both supplier and customer must be halted and in range for the supply unit (see below).

AMMO CARRIER

This can be anything including a normal ammo truck (even if armoured), 40 ammo supply points per move. Range 1 hex.

AMMO CANISTER, crew is 1 and speed must be 0, usually transportable, supplies small ammo only (to WH size 3), low supply points per move (20 ammo points) (Originally the ammo box icon for this was done only for a particular WinSPWW2 scenario using German paras (who only dropped armed with pistols), but left in for specialised scenario usage). Range 1 hex.

AMMO DUMP, 6 or more men, speed must be 0, loadcost>49, an ammo dump supplies at lower rate (~1/2 rate) at 2 hexes range, full rate at 1 or less, has more supply per move (60 ammo points)

NB, ammo units no longer supply points to an infinite number of 'customers' as in previous SP games, they supply one customer until it is topped off, then move on to the next. The order will be in unit list order (units further up the roster will be supplied first). You cannot cluster an entire company round 1 ammo truck and have all load equally any more.

Ammo resupply is based on the Warhead size of the weapon, WH 1 rifle ammo gets more rounds resupplied than a size 10 missile for example.

When destroyed, ammo units may generate secondary explosions in their own and nearby hexes. These are effectively 1000lb bomb bursts.

Are you trying to get ammo resupply units to load ammo onto ordinary trucks for further resupply to combat units?
If so I don't think this is possible.

I bought ammo supply trks as part of my core units. When they came on the map, they showed that they did not contain any ammo of any type all 0s. I put out of supply tanks and armored cars next to them and in the same hex for 4 turns and neither of them were resupplied with ammo. I've used supply trks before in the scenerios etc and they always showed how much supply they carried and the units would resupply after several turns, but not this time...

Which game showed you "supply points" for ammo trucks - not this one or any of its variants!. Nor do they have any "ammo" on board, ever - just internal ammo points unavailable to the end user to view. You may well be thinking of some other game?.

"Out of supply" - do you mean that you put units that had depleted ammo in the hex beside the truck?. If so, and they are not suppressed, and are stationary (And if a helo, landed) then the first unit in the listing will start to reload the used ammo from weapon 1 down to 4. (But not smoke or smoke dischargers). Check the ammo numbers after a couple of turns. Once it is topped up, then the ammo will start to load on the next one on the list, and so on. (WinSP games don't have the ability to supply an infinite number of units simultaneously like the old SSI versions.)

Andy, tks for the feedback, however, in one of the scenerios that i played, can't remember which one as I've played a good portion of them. I did have ammo trks that showed so much he, ap etc.points and they were reduced as they resupplied units. I wish I could remember which one it was. But I will try again to use resupply, I had l unit next to the hex and 1 unit in the same hex, neither one after 4 turns received supply... however, I just bought another supply trk in my current campaign game and will let you know if it works... Tks again to everyone for the helpful feedback, appreciate it... tks again

You may have been confused by an ammo truck or halftrack that had its own AAMG, hence ammo stats of its own for its weapon?. (99% of ammo units are unarmed). Those stats would have nothing to do with ammunition supply, which is internal and hence invisible to the end user.
