Default Will there be a downloadable version of this?

I don't know if this is a policy thing, but it looks like I'm going to be stuck frustrated at Shrapnel having a cool game available but, not being in the USA, the insistance on using physical CDs means I get into the horrible world of duties and delivery delay.

I notice that LOL was submitted to the IGF as a Downloadable game, does that give any obligation to ensure it turns out that way?

I'm not sure WHY Shrapnel insist on only physical shipments, since they're not realistically going to get games into shops (at least, not shops outside the US) and it can't be a security thing because Shrapnel's CDs don't have any security features.

Default Re: Will there be a downloadable version of this?

We actually have downloadable products and have had such since 1999. It depends on the product.

We have plans to expand our downloadable options but it is dependent on some other IT related tasks we have to complete first.

So the answer is we do plan to offer games like LOL as a download also but I can't promise that.

As to other games, not LOL specifically, our more complex games require people to read our manuals prior to playing because of their complex nature. The manuals, in fact, act as a built in copy protection method. You would be surprised how many requests we get from pirates who want a manual for a game they obviously pirated.

Anyway more on this in the next month or so.

As far as VAT and such our games do not require VAT because of the way we ship them.
