Default small campaign. German paratroops

After playing a lot of large battles, I am going to go back to small, quick battles for a while.

So for that purpose, a German Fallschirmjager company will be my core force.

I'll buy a bit of support each battle, having my grunts fight alongside different forces, possibly even some allies here and there.

So under the command of Oberstleutnant Bolhois, we have:

a company headquarters with a rifle squad, sniper, MG team (with 2 MG34) and a mortar team (with 2 8cm's)

3 platoons, each with 3 squads and 3 LMG teams. Quite a bit of firepower available here. The squads also have antitank charges, so they aren't completely defenseless against tanks.

an antitank section with 3 antitank rifles.

Our first fight is a meeting engagement in Poland. Those extra MG teams will propably come in handy against the Polish hordes!

We are going to have some decent support.. a bunch of 8cm mortars, a battery of 75mm's and a battery of 150mm's. A ton of support for a measly company but hey, these woods might be a lot more important than they look.

I also have a platoon of PZ35t and PZ 3 tagging along, to hopefully blow up any enterprising Polish tanks we come across.

Map size is small, 30 wide 40 high, so it'll be a pretty quick fire battle.

Much more arty on a map that size you could fire blind & near enough guarantee hitting something.

As it turned out, I overdid it on the arty and got flooded by polish guys. They managed to sneak a good bunch of cavalry past me in the woods and wreak havoc on the guns.

Next time, slightly bigger map, and more realistic arty assignment

I must admit unless I am assaulting so dug in units who need a good pounding dont tend to go big on. Only need enough to suppress what you are engaging & hit likely ATG positions plus a few to let you do the arty shuffle against CB fire.
